Refer a Friend — Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 19 September 2026
These terms explain how Orienta’s Refer a Friend scheme works.
The scheme is operated by Northreach Education Ltd, trading as Orienta, company number 17220179, with its registered office at 14 Monmouth Road, London, E6 3QT, United Kingdom.
1. The referral reward
You can receive £200 for referring a person who enrols on a course through Orienta, provided all the conditions in these terms are met.
The reward is paid to the person who made the referral, not to the referred student.
The scheme applies to all courses available through Orienta. It does not guarantee that a particular course, intake or place will be available.
2. Registering a referral
A referral can be registered in either of the following ways:
-
The applicant contacts Orienta directly and tells us who referred them during their first communication with us.
-
The referrer submits our referral form, having first obtained the applicant’s permission to share their details with Orienta and for Orienta to contact them about their interest in studying.
If you use the referral form, please explain to the applicant what information you will share and make our Privacy Notice available to them. Only provide the information requested by the form.
You must also tell the applicant that you may receive a £200 reward if they enrol and the scheme’s conditions are met.
Permission to make a referral is not permission to add the applicant to unrelated marketing campaigns.
We will record the referral when we receive the form or during our first communication with the applicant, as applicable. We may contact the applicant to confirm the referral and their permission to be contacted.
If information supplied at that stage has not been recorded correctly, please contact us so we can investigate and correct the record.
3. When a referral qualifies
A referral qualifies for payment when all of the following conditions have been met:
-
The referral has been registered with Orienta.
-
The referred applicant has completed their application and enrolled through Orienta.
-
The university or education provider has confirmed the student’s enrolment.
-
The student has attended their course for at least four teaching weeks, with attendance or engagement confirmed by the provider.
-
Orienta has received the corresponding recruitment payment from the university or education provider for that student.
An offer, acceptance of an offer or submission of an application does not, by itself, qualify for a reward.
The attendance condition relates to scheduled teaching and required engagement with the course. It does not introduce a separate requirement for perfect attendance. Where attendance is affected by authorised absence or agreed adjustments, we will seek clarification from the provider before deciding whether the condition has been met.
4. Payment timing
We will arrange payment promptly once all qualifying conditions have been met and we have the information needed to pay you.
The reward is not automatically payable four weeks after the student starts their course. University confirmation and payment schedules vary.
Payment to you may take longer because Orienta must first receive the corresponding recruitment payment.
If that payment has not been received, the referral reward remains pending. If no recruitment payment becomes payable to Orienta for the referred student, the reward will not become payable.
We will take reasonable steps to obtain outstanding confirmation and payments and explain any delay affecting your reward. You can request an update at hello@orienta.london.
5. Duplicate referrals and genuine participation
Only one £200 reward is payable for each referred student.
If more than one person claims the same referral, we will review our records and ask the applicant to confirm who referred them. We will explain our decision and give those involved an opportunity to raise a concern.
Self-referrals, fabricated referrals and claims based on false information do not qualify.
We may temporarily pause a disputed claim while we investigate. We will explain the reason and will not withhold a valid reward arbitrarily.
6. Withdrawals, deferrals and course changes
If the applicant does not enrol or does not meet the attendance condition, no reward is payable.
If the applicant defers their start date, the referral will remain recorded and will be assessed when they begin their course.
A change to another course available through Orienta does not automatically cancel the referral. The qualifying conditions will be assessed against the course on which the applicant ultimately enrols.
A later withdrawal does not automatically require a referrer to repay a reward that was validly earned and paid.
7. The student’s choice comes first
Taking part in the scheme does not give the referrer authority to act for the applicant or influence an admissions decision.
Applicants remain free to choose whether to apply, which course to take and whether to continue their studies. Referrers must not pressure someone to enrol or remain on an unsuitable course to secure a reward.
The reward does not guarantee admission, student finance or any other funding. Admissions and funding decisions are made by the relevant organisations.
8. Privacy
We use referral information to register referrals, verify eligibility, contact participants and arrange payments, as explained in our Privacy Notice.
If we receive an applicant’s details through a referrer, we will explain where we obtained their information and provide access to our Privacy Notice when we first contact them.
A referral does not give the referrer access to the applicant’s application, documents, financial information or detailed attendance records. We will limit updates to information necessary to administer the reward and will seek the applicant’s permission where required.
9. Changes to the scheme
We may change or close the scheme for future referrals by updating these terms and the relevant promotional information.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights attached to referrals already registered under an earlier version of the terms.
